2017–2018

In 2017, I became the busking programme director at the Brno Marathon of Music Festival, and from the beginning it was my intention to push the boundaries of the genre – not only where the performing musicians are concerned, but also with regard to the performance venues. I started “No-street Busking” and invited musicians to perform at completely unexpected places in the centre of Brno. There was busking on balconies, in cars, underground, in a shopping centre, in a tree, on escalators and when crossing the road. In 2018, I combined No-street Busking with the International Meeting of Organ Grinders; they brought another dimension to the event and our cooperation has continued to this day. In the following years, I moved the established format even further and came up with home concerts right on the street. Busking in open rooms met with such a great response from the public that it became one of the key aspects of the entire festival.
